WNYSSH will be severely scaling things back in 2026 and ONLY doing Cross Ice Skill Focused Developmental Leagues! As the league expanded, the fun seemed to diminish... Lets get back to our roots!
We will be back to FOUR Team Divisions which will be travel level teams.
Season cost will be $326.25 including NYS Tax.
- Varsity/Midget (2008-2011): Thursdays 4/9/2026 - 5/28/26 @ Bud Bakewell
- Girls (2012, 2013, 2014): Thursdays 4/9/2026 - 5/28/26 @ Bud Bakewell
- Peewee (2013-14) & Squirt (2015-16): Tuesdays: 5/5/2026 - 7/7/2026 @ Leisure Rinks
- Mite (2017-19) & Bantam (2011-12): Wednesdays: 5/6/2026 - 7/8/2026 @ Leisure Rinks
Unfortunately, B divisions will be eliminated as it had become very difficult to field competitive and balanced teams. If there were enough players within the B division we would have continued that level, some teams only had 5 or 6 skaters' last season. At the current demand, it’s just not possible. I took a loss on some unused ice sheets last year due to the lack of B division registrations and that cannot happen again, or we’ll be out of business altogether.
I really wish I could give everyone a spot to play, that’s what the league was founded on. Unless there’s an overwhelming demand and commitment from B level players, this trend will continue. Unfortunately, many of the B players struggle against the higher competition and that’s not fun for everyone involved.
If a certain group of B division players wanted to reach out even if only to form 2 teams, and they play each other each week, I’d be open to it even as early as returning it here in 2026.
